* Create and use an llvm.eh.sjlj.functioncontext intrinsic.Bill Wendling2011-09-28
| | | | | | | | | This intrinsic is used to pass the index of the function context to the back-end for further processing. The back-end is in charge of filling in the rest of the entries. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@140676 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* When inlining exception handling code into another function, ensure thatDuncan Sands2011-09-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | duplicate tests are eliminated (for example if the two functions both have a catch clause catching the same type, ensure the redundant one is removed). Note that it would probably be safe to say that eh.typeid.for is 'const', but since two calls to it with the same argument can give different results (but only if the calls are in different functions), it seems more correct to mark it only 'pure'; this doesn't get in the way of the optimization. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@139236 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* Split the init.trampoline intrinsic, which currently combines GCC'sDuncan Sands2011-09-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | init.trampoline and adjust.trampoline intrinsics, into two intrinsics like in GCC. While having one combined intrinsic is tempting, it is not natural because typically the trampoline initialization needs to be done in one function, and the result of adjust trampoline is needed in a different (nested) function. To get around this llvm-gcc hacks the nested function lowering code to insert an additional parent variable holding the adjust.trampoline result that can be accessed from the child function. Dragonegg doesn't have the luxury of tweaking GCC code, so it stored the result of adjust.trampoline in the memory GCC set aside for the trampoline itself (this is always available in the child function), and set up some new memory (using an alloca) to hold the trampoline. Unfortunately this breaks Go which allocates trampoline memory on the heap and wants to use it even after the parent has exited (!). Rather than doing even more hacks to get Go working, it seemed best to just use two intrinsics like in GCC. Patch mostly by Sanjoy Das. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@139140 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Revamp the SjLj "dispatch setup" intrinsic.Bill Wendling2011-04-05
| | | | | | | | | | | | | It needed to be moved closer to the setjmp statement, because the code directly after the setjmp needs to know about values that are on the stack. Also, the 'bitcast' of the function context was causing a dead load. This wouldn't be too horrible, except that at -O0 it wasn't optimized out, and because it wasn't using the correct base pointer (if there is a VLA), it would try to access a value from a garbage address. <rdar://problem/9130540> git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@128873 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Introduce the "@llvm.dbg.value" debug intrinsic.Victor Hernandez2009-12-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | The semantics of llvm.dbg.value are that starting from where it is executed, an offset into the specified user source variable is specified to get a new value. An example: call void @llvm.dbg.value(metadata !{ i32 7 }, i64 0, metadata !2) Here the user source variable associated with metadata #2 gets the value "i32 7" at offset 0. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@90788 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

This aligns us with gcc, which always uses a 32 bit value for the selector on all platforms. My understanding is that the register allocator used to assert if the selector intrinsic size didn't match the pointer size, and this was the reason for introducing the two variants. However my testing shows that this is no longer the case (I fixed some bugs in selector lowering yesterday, and some more today in the fastisel path; these might have caused the original problems). git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@84106 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
