| | | | | | | | | | | | | | r201608 made llvm corretly handle private globals with MachO. r201622 fixed a bug in it and r201624 and r201625 were changes for using private linkage, assuming that llvm would do the right thing. They all got reverted because r201608 introduced a crash in LTO. This patch includes a fix for that. The issue was that TargetLoweringObjectFile now has to be initialized before we can mangle names of private globals. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The IR @foo = private constant i32 42 is valid, but before this patch we would produce an invalid MachO from it. It was invalid because it would use an L label in a section where the liker needs the labels in order to atomize it. One way of fixing it would be to just reject this IR in the backend, but that would not be very front end friendly. What this patch does is use an 'l' prefix in sections that we know the linker requires symbols for atomizing them. This allows frontends to just use private and not worry about which sections they go to or how the linker handles them. One small issue with this strategy is that now a symbol name depends on the section, which is not available before codegen. This is not a problem in practice. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | are available As noted in the comment above CodeGenPrepare::OptimizeInst, which aggressively sinks compares to reduce pressure on the condition register(s), for targets such as PowerPC with multiple condition registers, this may not be the right thing to do. This adds an HasMultipleConditionRegisters boolean to TLI, and CodeGenPrepare::OptimizeInst is skipped when HasMultipleConditionRegisters is true. This functionality will be used by the PowerPC backend in an upcoming commit. A look at the commit log suggests that they were * Use the ABI alignment. * When that was not sufficient for x86-64, I added the 's' specification to DataLayout. * When that was not sufficient Evan added the virtual getByValTypeAlignment. * When even that was not sufficient, we just got the FE to add the alignment to the byval. This patch is just a simple cleanup that removes my first attempt at fixing the problem. I also added an AArch64 implementation of getByValTypeAlignment to make sure this patch is a nop. I also left the 's' parsing for backward compatibility. Most of the x86 specific stackmap/patchpoint handling was necessitated by the use of the native address-mode format for frame index operands. PEI has now been modified to treat stackmap/patchpoint similarly to DEBUG_INFO, allowing us to use a simple, platform independent register/offset pair for frame indexes on stackmap/patchpoints. Notes: - Folding is now platform independent and automatically supported. - Emiting patchpoints with direct memory references now just involves calling the TargetLoweringBase::emitPatchPoint utility method from the target's XXXTargetLowering::EmitInstrWithCustomInserter method. (See X86TargetLowering for an example). - No more ugly platform-specific operand parsers. * Add a llvm.copysign intrinsicHal Finkel2013-08-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds a llvm.copysign intrinsic; We already have Libfunc recognition for copysign (which is turned into the FCOPYSIGN SDAG node). In order to autovectorize calls to copysign in the loop vectorizer, we need a corresponding intrinsic as well. In addition to the expected changes to the language reference, the loop vectorizer, BasicTTI, and the SDAG builder (the intrinsic is transformed into an FCOPYSIGN node, just like the function call), this also adds FCOPYSIGN to a few lists in LegalizeVector{Ops,Types} so that vector copysigns can be expanded. In TargetLoweringBase::initActions, I've made the default action for FCOPYSIGN be Expand for vector types. Recent PowerPC cores have an instruction for round(), and so here I'm adding ISD::FROUND so that round() can be custom lowered as well. For the most part, this is straightforward. I've added an intrinsic and a matching ISD node just like those for nearbyint() and friends. The SelectionDAG pattern I've named frnd (because ISD::FP_ROUND has already claimed fround). This fixes some of the cycles between libCodeGen and libSelectionDAG. It's still a complete mess but as long as the edges consist of virtual call it doesn't cause breakage.
