* Support: update DLLCharacteristics enumerationSaleem Abdulrasool2014-06-27
| | | | | | | | Add the new AppContainer characteristic which is import for Windows Store (Metro) compatible applications. Add the new Control Flow Guard flag to bring the enumeration up to date with the current values as of Windows 8.1. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@211855 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Remove system_error.h.Rafael Espindola2014-06-12
| | | | | | | This is a minimal change to remove the header. I will remove the occurrences of "using std::error_code" in a followup patch. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@210803 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: initial implementation of WoA EH decodingSaleem Abdulrasool2014-06-04
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Add support to llvm-readobj to decode Windows ARM Exception Handling data. This uses the previously added datastructures to decode the information into a format that can be used by tests. This is a necessary step to add support for emitting Windows on ARM exception handling information. A fair amount of formatting inspiration is drawn from the Win64 EH printer as well as the ARM EHABI printer. This allows for a reasonably thorough look into the encoded data. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@210192 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: avoid use of std::functionSaleem Abdulrasool2014-05-25
| | | | | | | | | | | Remove the use of the std::function and replace the capturing lambda with a non-capturing one, opting to pass the user data down to the context. This is needed as std::function is not yet available on all hosted platforms (it requires RTTI, which breaks on Windows). Thanks to Nico Rieck for pointing this out! git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@209607 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: split out Win64EHDumper from COFFDumperSaleem Abdulrasool2014-05-25
| | | | | | | | | | Move the implementation of the Win64 EH printer from the COFFDumper into its own class. This is in preparation for adding support to print ARM EH information. The only real change here is in printUnwindInfo where we now lambda lift the implicit this parameter for the resolveFunction. Also setup the printing to handle ARM. This now has set the stage to introduce ARM EH printing. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@209606 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: inline simple single-use functionSaleem Abdulrasool2014-05-25
| | | | | | | This inlines the single use function in preparation for splitting the Win64EH printing out of the COFFDumper into its own entity. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@209605 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: refactor COFFDumper symbol resolution logicSaleem Abdulrasool2014-05-25
| | | | | | | | | | Make the use of the cache more transparent to the users. There is no reason that the cached entries really need to be passed along. The overhead for doing so is minimal: a single extra parameter. This requires that some standalone functions be brought into the COFFDumper class so that they may access the cache. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@209604 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* tools: use references rather than out pointers in COFFDumperSaleem Abdulrasool2014-05-25
| | | | | | | Switch to use references for parameters that are guaranteed to be non-null. Simplifies the code a slight bit in preparation for another change. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@209603 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* tools: address possible non-null terminated filenamesSaleem Abdulrasool2014-04-14
| | | | | | | | | If a filename is a multiple of 18 characters, there will be no null-terminator. This will result in an invalid access by the constructed StringRef. Add a test case to exercise this and fix that handling. Address this same vulnerability in llvm-readobj as well. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@206145 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Object: Provide a richer means of describing auxiliary symbolsDavid Majnemer2014-03-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The current state of affairs has auxiliary symbols described as a big bag of bytes. This is less than satisfying, it detracts from the YAML file as being human readable. Instead, allow for symbols to optionally contain their auxiliary data. This allows us to have a much higher level way of describing things like weak symbols, function definitions and section definitions. This depends on D3105. * Simplify the handling of iterators in ObjectFile.Rafael Espindola2014-01-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | None of the object file formats reported error on iterator increment. In retrospect, that is not too surprising: no object format stores symbols or sections in a linked list or other structure that requires chasing pointers. As a consequence, all error checking can be done on begin() and end(). This reduces the text segment of bin/llvm-readobj in my machine from 521233 to 518526 bytes. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@200442 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

| | | | | | | | | That bit is not documented in the PE/COFF spec published by Microsoft, so we don't know the official name of it. I named this bit IMAGE_DLL_CHARACTERISTICS_HIGH_ENTROPY_VIRTUAL_ADDRESS because the bit is reported as "high entropy virtual address" by dumpbin.exe, git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@200121 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* llvm-readobj: add support for PE32+ (Windows 64 bit executable).Rui Ueyama2014-01-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | PE32+ supports 64 bit address space, but the file format remains 32 bit. So its file format is pretty similar to PE32 (32 bit executable). The differences compared to PE32 are (1) the lack of "BaseOfData" field and (2) some of its data members are 64 bit. In this patch, I added a new member function to get a PE32+ Header object to COFFObjectFile class and made llvm-readobj to use it. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@200117 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* COFFDumper: Dump data directory entries.Rui Ueyama2013-07-18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Summary: Dump optional data directory entries in the PE/COFF header, so that we can test the output of LLD linker. This patch updates the test binary file, but the source of the binary is the same. I just re-linked the file. I don't know how the previous file was linked, but the previous file did not have any data directory entries for some reason. * Implements low-level object file format specific output for COFF andEric Christopher2013-04-03
ELF with support for: - File headers - Section headers + data - Relocations - Symbols - Unwind data (only COFF/Win64) The output format follows a few rules: - Values are almost always output one per line (as elf-dump/coff-dump already do). - Many values are translated to something readable (like enum names), with the raw value in parentheses. - Hex numbers are output in uppercase, prefixed with "0x". - Flags are sorted alphabetically. - Lists and groups are always delimited. Example output: ---------- snip ---------- Sections [ Section { Index: 1 Name: .text (5) Type: SHT_PROGBITS (0x1) Flags [ (0x6) SHF_ALLOC (0x2) SHF_EXECINSTR (0x4) ] Address: 0x0 Offset: 0x40 Size: 33 Link: 0 Info: 0 AddressAlignment: 16 EntrySize: 0 Relocations [ 0x6 R_386_32 .rodata.str1.1 0x0 0xB R_386_PC32 puts 0x0 0x12 R_386_32 .rodata.str1.1 0x0 0x17 R_386_PC32 puts 0x0 ] SectionData ( 0000: 83EC04C7 04240000 0000E8FC FFFFFFC7 |.....$..........| 0010: 04240600 0000E8FC FFFFFF31 C083C404 |.$.........1....| 0020: C3 |.| ) } ] ---------- snip ---------- Relocations and symbols can be output standalone or together with the section header as displayed in the example. This feature set supports all tests in test/MC/COFF and test/MC/ELF (and I suspect all additional tests using elf-dump), making elf-dump and coff-dump deprecated.
